Conveyor - Active Stance Exhibit: Amesbury Upper Millyard 2002

Drawing from the imagery and cyclical motion of common mill components, Conveyor is balanced precariously on two points appearing to float linearly across the lawn, its path mechanically predetermined.

Modicus - O.S.A.M. 2003 Theme: Pattern

Consider Modicus a cultural artifact dropped within the context of Maudslay. Employing the two dimensional triangle as a three dimensional patterning device, Modicus is spatially and formally defined by the most basic geometric element of nature. Inspired by the 19th C. science fiction of Jules Verne and the 20th C. architecture of Buckminster Fuller, Modicus examines the tension between exploration and frontier and the means by which facilitating methods serve ultimately to limit interpretation.
